Orcs & Goblins (Tim) vs Wood Elves (Gill)
The Wood Elves didn't know what hit them.
But on the edge of the River Trebleca where it wound round to border their realm, the Orcs and Goblins roared into battle on chariot and steed, pounding into the Elven ranks as, in their surprise, they floundered to respond.
More and more Goblins poured through the trees, hacking at the Elven forces and nothing they could do could fend them off.
That is until not one but two Bloodwood Drakes glided across the river and cracked into the flank of the Orc advance.
But it wasn't enough.
The Orcs and Goblins kept coming, a seemingly endless line of clattering spike-endowed chariots, smashing into every unit send to combat them.
The Elves had no choice but to withdraw, the wolves and goblins snapping at their heels.
And the Realm of The Wood Elves became suddenly horrifyingly smaller.
To the south of the Empire, the lawless Border Princes are wracked by war. Undead legions sweep north from the Land of the Dead. Orcs, Skaven and Ogres run rampant and spiteful Wood Elves strike from the dark woods. Against these dark forces stand the Dwarfs of Horn Hold, the Knights of Tempest Falls and the Men of New Sylvania, determined to stand firm; however if the undead can batter their way through the Border Princes then the Empire will be next. This truly is the Last Chance War.

Those drakes sure get around.. first against the men of stone, and now against the Orcs and Goblins? Pretty feisty buggers ain't they?
ReplyDeleteLove the terrain as usual mate.. everything seems to mess so well on it..
Heh. Well there are supposed to be several of them. These must be the other ones that just look similar.
ReplyDeleteOr maybe they just flew really quickly.
I am actually working toward theming each of tyhe armies on my map so that this kind of awkwardness is avoided but I'm a ways off yet.
The real problem is that I hate painting Wood Elves but they're quite a small army. I need the Drakes to make the points up.
Ah well! One day!
